Perched along the iconic Long Beach Strand, this three-story waterfront residence was originally built in 1994 and reimagined to better reflect contemporary coastal living. The renovation focused on opening the home to its oceanfront surroundings, creating brighter, more connected living spaces with larger windows and expansive operable glass doors that maximize natural light and capture sweeping beach views.
Inside, the home’s layout was thoughtfully reconfigured to better suit the owner’s lifestyle, while both the interior and exterior received a complete modern refresh. A new three-stop elevator was seamlessly integrated into the design, improving accessibility and convenience across all levels.
One of the project’s unique challenges involved the second-floor rear deck, which sat 12 inches below the adjacent interior floor. Working closely with the City of Long Beach, an ADA-related covenant was established to allow the deck to be raised flush with the interior, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor transition that enhances both accessibility and the overall living experience.
