A beloved Los Angeles institution, Dulan’s on Crenshaw has been serving home-style soul food for generations. As the neighborhood prepared for the opening of the Crenshaw/LAX transit corridor, the project created an opportunity to refresh the restaurant’s historic 1920s building while honoring the legacy of this family-owned business.
The renovation focused on elevating the building’s street presence and creating a more welcoming experience for guests, while expanding the restaurant’s operational capabilities. A new commissary kitchen was thoughtfully integrated to support dine-in service, catering, takeout, and the restaurant’s growing fleet of food trucks.
By modernizing the facility while preserving its identity, the project positions Dulan’s for continued growth, ensuring this iconic neighborhood restaurant can serve its community for generations to come.
